Eka Chemicals to increase prices on paper Chemicals

Marietta, GA, US, January 25, 2008 - Eka Chemicals, Akzo Nobel’s Pulp and Paper Chemicals business, will increase the price of paper chemicals products. This price increase, which is effective immediately, will be applied across all product lines in North America.

“This pricing action is primarily the result of rising raw material and transportation
costs,” says Greg Bengtson, Vice President Sales, Eka Chemicals North America.
“Significant cost increases on some of our key raw materials must be reflected in the
final product price to ensure that Eka continues to provide sustainable business
solutions for our customers.”
