Waste treatment

Eka Chemicals constantly strives to not only help pulp and paper mills minimize generating solid waste, but also recover, recycle and reuse these materials as much as possible. Some of the organic waste generated has a reasonable heating value and can be burned in the power boiler of a mill without the risk of hazardous emissions.

Material that cannot be reused or recovered, such as boiler ashes, green liquor dregs, lime mud and some wood and bark waste rejects, should be taken to a secure landfill facility.
